A QUICK RECAP OF LAST NIGHTS BEER TASTING
We had a pleasant evening at the Brickskeller Holidaze Beer tasting last night. As always Dave Alexander (owner) and Bob Tupper (m.c. for the event) were perfect hosts and presented some fantastic beers from the likes of District Chophouse, Cap City Brewing, Red Brick Station & He’Brew among others. We presented our Merry Ole Ale, 6.2% abv spiced Christmas Ale. Not many brewers seem to be doing spiced beers at the moment and I figured that we would need something with a moderate alcohol content as many beers would be pretty high octane, although when 6.2% was considered moderate I don’t know! I was correct on both counts … no other spiced ales present and one of only 3 beers around the 6% or lower mark (the He’Brew offering clocked in at a whopping 13% abv)!
On February 9th the Brickskeller will be holding a strong beer tasting at which we’ll have our last keg of Hot Monkey Love. I thoroughly recommend a visit, it’s sure to be an interesting night.
