Beer
The Pratt Street Ale House proudly serves Oliver Ales, all of which are handcrafted in our brewery by Brewmaster Steve Jones. A long-time professional brewer, Steve has a diploma in Brewing from the Institute of Brewing Studies, London. Our Brewhouse equipment was imported from the UK and uses a single-step mash infusion process with traditional open fermentation. We import our malt and hops to guarantee that you’re drinking the most authentic English Style Ales outside the UK. Come in and taste our full selection of craft beers today.
Draught Ales
Smooth Pour Ales
These beers are infused with mostly nitrogen. This results in the classic cascading pour and a sublimely smooth finish.
Blackfriar Stout | 4.9% a.b.v.
Stout is a black ale. Ours is highly hopped, moderately high in alcohol and boasts a rich roasted barley and chocolate malt flavor.
Coventry Cream Ale | 6.0% a.b.v.
A northern English style bitter characterized by a rich creamy head, boisterous body, robust flavor, and a beautiful pleasing red color.
Bishop’s Breakfast | 4.6% a.b.v.
Oatmeal stout. Rich, smooth and malty. This stout has a nice robust flavor with slight hints of chocolate.
Hand Pumped Ales
These cask-conditioned ales are taken directly from the fermenting vessel with no further processing. The yeast continues to ferment in the cask giving the ale a low level of carbonation resulting in the “calm” pour when served using our traditional English hand pumps. These beers are served at 54°F for maximum flavor profile.
Best Bitter | 4.8% a.b.v.
A general term for what is perhaps the highest expression of the brewer’s craft. Open fermented, fined, served at 54°F, and dispensed by hand pumps.
E.S.B. (Extra Special Bitter) | 6.0% a.b.v.
A special bitter with a dark red color and a smooth body. It has a good malt to hops balance and is fairly high in alcohol. Chosen by “beer hunter” Michael Jackson as a world class beer for inclusion in his books “Ultimate Beer” and “The Great Beer Guide.”
Brewer’s Choice Cask
The third hand pumped ale Special cask conditioned ales are prepared from time to time and as seasons change offering a unique variety of styles. Ask your server or bartender for details about the most recent cask selection.
