The Peeping Tom Porter is now on tap At The Pratt Street Ale House.

The Peeping Tom Porter is now on tap At The Pratt Street Ale House. It is a very sessionable beer, 4.4% a.b.v, relatively light in body but full of roasted malt flavors, a thirst quencher for those looking for something easy drinking but with character too. It replaces William’s Winter Warmer on tap although there is a small amount of the Oak Aged version still available on cask … get it while you can!

The Peeping Tom will be available on cask at Frisco Grille, Columbia on Wednesday 13th January (Oliver’s Pint Night) and Bertha’s and Max’s, Fells Point on Thursday 14th January.

Well here we are .... the last brew day of 2009!

Well here we are …. the last brew day of 2009! We’re ending with a Bishop’s Breakfast and, as it happens I’ll be filling some firkins and a kilderkin with the Bishop’s Indulgence and moving the rest to conditioning. I’ll be starting the next year with a bang by brewing the Hot Monkey Love … a statement of intent for the coming year! I’m awaiting delivery of 4 Woodford Reserve barrels (big shout out to Barrett @ The District Chophouse for supplying the info for making it possible) so we’ll be doing some interesting things with those. The first 3 seasonal brews for 2010 are in various stages of process. The Scottish Ale (7%abv) is in conditioning, The Peeping Tom Porter (4.4%abv) is fermenting and, as I’ve already mentioned, the Bishop’s Indulgence (8%abv) is moving to conditioning today. Firkins of the Scottish Ale will be going out to Max’s and ChurchKey next week so look out for them on tap in the near future. In the second week of January I’ll also be brewing the Strongman Pale Ale which will probably be around the 7.5% – 8% abv mark.

Casks of the Bishop's Indulgence

Four firkins of The Bishop’s Indulgence will be shipped to outside accounts. A kilderkin with American Oak is staying at The Pratt Street Ale House for release in early February.

Don’t forget to enter The Friday Question …. you’ve got until Friday a.m. when I’ll post the answer.

Cheers for now. Have a great New Year celebration.

Steve

I'm brewing the Peeping Tom Porter today

I’m brewing the Peeping Tom Porter today. It’s a great session ale, about 4.5% abv, reasonably light in body but full of wonderful dark malt flavors, very drinkable, especially on cask. Speaking of which it will likely make its cask debut at Bertha’s in Fells Point on January 14th. Bertha’s are going to have a monthly cask (pin) 0n the bar for the first Thursday of every month. Now you eagle-eyed detectives out there will have noticed that the 14th is the second Thursday but Bertha’s will be closed for some refurbishments briefly in early January, hence the 2nd Thursday slot. Thereafter cask night will be the first Thursday of every month. We’ll be supplying as many interesting casks as possible including most of our seasonals. February’s cask will likely be the Bishop’s Indulgence.

Speaking of cask ale, the very last cask of Merry Ole Ale is on the beer engine at Max’s Taphouse now. ChurchKey has the Dark Horse dark mild on one of its beer engines. If you find yourself in that part of D.C. stop by for a pint, it’s a wonderful session ale and you couldn’t want for a nicer environment in which to drink it!
